We have another full programme of guided walks for 2011. The usual arrangement is that the walk leader meets passengers at either Leyburn or Redmire (depending on the particular route) off the 09:50 train from Leeming Bar (Bedale dep 09:59; Finghall dep 10:17; Leyburn dep 10:33).  Walks start shortly after the arrival of the train.

Walks last 3-4 hours, ending in either Redmire or Leyburn, from where you can catch a train back to your starting point.  We typically cover 5-7 miles and suitable clothing and footwear is essential. Please bring your own refreshments, especially drinks. Leyburn station teabar is open on all train running days.

On limited occasions, the walk includes travel on a local or vintage bus (fare payable; free to Senior Citizens with valid bus pass).  All these leisure walks include some walking uphill and downhill and require reasonable fitness but few are described as ‘strenuous’.

No booking is required for these walks unless indicated.

Normally no charge is made for Wensleydale Railway passengers with same-day railway tickets. A £3 charge is made for others.
